Arrival/Dismissal

During afternoon dismissal, in an effort to increase the flow of traffic and get parents and students safely off the campus, we are proposing:

  1. ●      A one way in/ one way out pattern for afternoon dismissal.
  2. ●      Parents of 7th and 8th grade students will enter at the intersection of CE King Parkway and Crenshaw and drive east on Crenshaw.  Parents will enter the circle driveway, pick up their student, and exit heading west on Crenshaw towards CE King Parkway.
  3. ●      Parents of 6th grade students will enter at the intersection of Mayhaw and Crenshaw, turn right only and continue around the circle driveway of the 6th Grade building.  After picking up students, parents will have to make a left only on Mayhaw.
  4. ●      In order for this plan to work, we would need two officers:
  5. ○      An officer at the stop light at the intersection of CE King Parkway and Crenshaw.  This Officer will help the flow of traffic by regulating how many cars can pass through the light.
  6. ○      An officer at the intersection of Crenshaw and Mayhaw.  This officer will direct traffic leaving the 6th grade building and ensure the cars go back down Mayhaw.  This officer will also ensure that cars heading east on Crenshaw turn into the circle driveway.
  7. ●      Additional needs include: hand-held stop signs, safety vests, signage for the circle driveway (painted arrows), enter/do not enter signs.
  8. ●      One staff member will monitor student activity at the intersection of Deep Valley and Crystal Cove to foster and maintain a safe environment.
