Associate Principal - Mable Crowder
I am excited to begin my 20th year in education this year, as your Associate Principal at C. E. King Middle School. During my time here I have served in a variety of roles including Testing Coordinator and Assistant Principal.
I obtained my Bachelor’s in Education from Prairie View A&M University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University. It is with great esteem, that I am a member of the illustrious sorority of Delta Sigma Theta.
I am enthusiastic about being able to support, collaborate, and influence the entire school community. I thrive on the quote “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” I look forward to meeting the new and continuing to work with each and every one of you this school year! Together we can make a difference in our students’ lives!!!
Mable Crowder

Assistant Principal - Richard Peña
I am truly honored and blessed to have the opportunity to serve our community as your humble instructional school leader. I have been in education for twenty-three years and served thirteen years as an administrator. I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Houston.
I am confident that through team partnership, commitment, and dedication to our students we will help them continue to produce high academic achievement.

Assistant Principal - Tawana Johnson
Mrs. Johnson is starting her 23rd year in education with excitement and joy to serve the students, teachers, and community of Sheldon ISD. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M-Commerce. She also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration (K-12) from Stephen F. Austin and a 2nd Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Texas. Mrs. Johnson looks forward to working with the awesome staff at KMS to help lay a strong foundation for the next level in our student’s lives.
Assistant Principal - Jasmine Giron
Panthers,
Mrs. Giron has served as an educator since 2009. She made her humble start as an associate teacher serving 1st grade bilingual students at Kelso Elementary school in HISD. From 2010-2014, she served as an Integrated Physics and Chemistry teacher, biology teacher, AP environmental science teacher and lead biology teacher/department chair at Madison High School. Her leadership journey began to soar over the next years where she was able to serve as a magnet coordinator for East Early College High School and Booker T. Washington High School, a Stem Specialist and later Dean of Instruction at Milby High School. From 2019-2023 she proudly served as the Principal of McReynolds Middle School in Houston ISD. Most recently for 2023-2024, she was a member of the administrative team at Null Middle School.
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Giron to the KMS family. I encourage you to introduce yourselves and extend a warm greeting as she settles into her new role.
Dean of Instruction - Misshunna Davis
I am filled with immense joy and excitement to begin yet another remarkable academic year with all of you. With a heart full of love for the Sheldon community. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my passion and dedication to education with each and every one of you. Having accumulated 15 years of experience in the field of education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise for the role of Dean of Instruction.
As we embark on this new school year together, I am reminded of the incredible privilege it has been to be part of this campus for the past four years. Witnessing the growth, achievements, and triumphs of our students and staff has been truly inspiring. The unwavering spirit and resilience of our community continue to amaze me, reinforcing my commitment to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for all.
